Caronna is a native of Houston, Texas who now resides in Bandera, Texas, The Cowboy Capital of the World.  After graduating high school, Mark attended Sam Houston State University (Go Bearkats), dropping out his junior year to enter the Houston Police Department training academy.  Mark successfully completed academy training in April, 1983, and began the field training program, completing it successfully as well.  In 1984 Mark received a permanent Peace Officers license, and remained with the Houston Police Department until retiring honorably in 2011.  During his career Mark received a number of awards and recognition including a Life Saving award, a Life Giver Award from the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, and Chief of Police Commendation for the successful rescue of a man attempting suicide.  Mark's first book, Taking God on Patrol looks at many of the experiences, and struggles of the first half of his career through the lense of his Christian faith.

Both of Mark's books are available on Amazon.  Mark has been privileged to speak to law enforcement, church, and other community groups on a variety of subjects including mental health issues, and trauma related to law enforcement, as well as sharing his Christian faith.
